The New Hope Players is a network of professional freelance musicians performing primarily in the Triangle (Chapel Hill, Raleigh and Durham) area of North Carolina. Founded in 1995, we feature string ensembles (duos, trios and quartets), although we are also able to program wind ensembles upon request. We guarantee a friendly, prompt, professional approach to each client and have performed for as few as two people to hundreds. Although we perform primarily in the Triangle area, the New Hope Players are open to engagements further afield when travel costs are covered.

The New Hope Players offer an extensive play list with literally hundreds of choices in all genres. Whether you are looking for Broadway tunes, James Taylor, holiday music, the Beatles, Scott Joplin or classic repertoire, our music collection has arrangements suitable for small string ensembles.

We draw on an extensive network of highly-experienced, freelance musicians, many of whom are affiliated with orchestras such as the Raleigh and Durham Symphonies, or have played with the NC Symphony. We perform frequently with each other and work well as a team. The size and stability of this network enables us to simultaneously program groups, particularly during the busy wedding season.

We understand that this may be one of the busiest and most stressful times of your life. We will be happy to perform your hand picked selections or, if you don't an extensive knowledge of classical music, to guide you or completely program your musical event. Leave as much or as little of the musical selections as you like to the musicians. Many aspects of your event may be out of your control, e.g. weather, traffic etc. We carefully contract with musicians who are patient, flexible, and sensitive and will work with you to make the most of every situation. You can trust us to make swift and decisive decisions when appropriate, and deal with those "unknown" factors in a professional manner.
